Roberta “Bobbie” Hamilton

Roberta "Bobbie" Hamilton, a member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes, was born November 23, 1958, in Clinton, Oklahoma. Her Cheyenne Name is Otseemehe'e. Her parents are Robert White Thunder and Ida Blackman White Thunder of Watonga, Oklahoma. Bobbie is the granddaughter of Cheyenne Chief Edward White Thunder and Arapaho Chief John Blackman. She was raised by her grandparents Jane and Gregory Blackburn, Edward and Rosie White Thunder and John Blackman after losing her mother at age 9. Bobbie has a sister, Frances White Thunder of El Reno, Oklahoma. Bobbie is a descendant of Sand Creek Massacre. She is married to Dale Hamilton and they reside in El Reno, Oklahoma. Dale and Bobbie raised 9 children and are proud grandparents of twelve plus grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Bobbie received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Presentation College in Eagle Butte, SD and Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Salish Kootenai College in Pablo, Montana. After working 23 years as an RN with the Indian Health Service across Indian Country, she retired from federal service. Currently, Bobbie works with the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes Department of Health, where she serves as an advocate for tribal members and their health and well-being.
